The quest for a healthy body is quite an undertaking, requiring a lot of time, effort and study. Luckily somebody called Udo Erasmus has been doing the hard yards in advance and is happy to share some insider tips as SAUL KHAN reports ... I have to do things like cut weight to get to certain weight categories, and while I sit comfortably in the heavier brackets dropping weight is hard. Not least because of the dieting, but also because the diet is not necessarily nutritious enough to sustain the punishment your body is sustaining. Like it or not the body needs to take in vital nutrients to be healthy, diet or no diet, and I found something very important for training to have optimum power. You can't just erase certain food groups from the body, it's not do-able. This includes fats. The important thing to remember is that there are good fats and bad fats, some heal you when damaged and some just give you cellulite. In fact if you really look into it your body needs about 20 minerals, 13 vitamins, eight amino acids and two essential fatty acids. All essential for peak performance of the body. Now you can probably see I take this sort of thing fairly seriously, and have been doing my research to make sure I'm some sort super street fighter II type character, which is of course exactly who I am. During my intellectual wanderings I stumbled across this character called Udo Erasmus, who claims to make this super oil full of all the minerals, vitamins, amino acids and even fatty acids my body could handle. So of course I decided to try it out and see if it would boost my performance. This kind of oil is not something which you cook, it's to be added to the meal after the cooking is done. Warm food is fine, just don't go frying it. Basically you add it to your protein shakes, salads, fruits etc to bolster the number of nutrients your body is taking in. It makes the fruit more filling and adds extra texture to salads. So it makes those harder diets a little more interesting and filling (thank God). The most interesting development I've found so far is I do seem to have more energy when getting into training, I haven't been doing it long enough yet to figure out what I'm most interested in. Which is the amount of time it takes for small injuries to snowball and sideline me for a few days (usually about a month), if I can increase the time it takes for me to collapse in a heap on the floor I'm onto a winner! Just got to keep going and see what happens! Looking to give Udo's Oils a try?
